Week Four

Week four was relatively uneventful. ​We planned a little bit of our free form-mentorship group and started to get the ball rolling on it. We should be having our first event next week which will be a little meet and greet through Webex. Jenah made a flier for us to send out with the Thursday announcements and hopefully that brings in at least a few students to participate. The goal is to have it function similarly to an orientation, in that we all just sit and gringle for a little while and get to know each other, maybe play some games as well. Afterwards we'll tell them about the mentorship program and how we are available to them to talk to and perhaps give advice about their involvement with campus.

We has an in-person meeting for my video class for an hour which was interesting. It's a unique experience being on campus right now. There are so few people there and when I first started classes at UCBA it was hard to find somewhere to sit. There probably won't be a time when we stop adjusting to life in a pandemic during this year or at least the beginning of next, but I am excited to return to normalcy eventually still.
